Pics of the big day......Amazing

Well he is home. He looked great and it was absolutely so exciting to see what a great man he is. Everyone was there to see him come in. The kids had all made posters and we were all really excited. He of course was one of the last ones to get off the plane. We waited and waited and he finally showed up. We all visited at the airport then took him to be released. The Stake President interviewed him then invited Dave and I in. He told us that he knew that Matt had been an excellent missionary. He said that he had given two years plus everything he had to give. He gave him a lot of good advice. We then headed home. Rachel and Kendall had picked up carne asada to cook. Some of Matt's friends came over to see him. It was just so great having him home. I am not sure that he thinks it is that great but we did. He seems a little lost and tired but I think it will be good.


Here I am saying no pictures. I was so nervous and I don't even know why. Everyone was laughing at how nervous I was.

It was a great experience. How thankful I am to Matt for giving our family this experience. I will miss having a missionary out in the field but it will be great to see the changes in Matt.

Happy 15th Birthday Kaden!!!

Yesterday was Kaden's birthday. Unfortunately he had to go to school and football weight lifting. They finished around 6:15. Dave and I met everyone up to Wingers in Rexburg to celebrate. Wingers is Kadens favorite place to eat. We had a great time then to Rachel's for ice cream cake.

Kaden I want you to know how much we love you. We are so glad you are in our family. Being the baby isn't always the easiest place to be. Everyone likes to pick on you and tease you. You are great. You are so on the ball. You hate it when any of us make you late. You worry about your school work and have to have it in on time. You keep your room clean (most of the time) You make us laugh here at home over some of the things you worry about. You make us all want to try just a little harder. We love you so much. Thanks for being the great kid that you are. You are so helpful to me. Even though you think you have to do everything because your the youngest. We hope you had a great day. Enjoy your golf clubs. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Brenan and Allie, Commencement 09

Brenan took Allison Taylor to the commencement dance. They had a good time. They had a huge group as you can see. The leaders parents put a lot of work into their dinner. They decorated and had a great meal. The kids went to a movie and to lunch. The boys went shooting while the girls got ready. They went to another movie after the dance. They had a good time. Pretty cute picture even if I do say so myself.

3 DaYs, 9 HoUrS, 58 MiNuTeS......Not that I'm Counting!!

Well all of you that are wondering. I am sure there are many of you!!! He is getting close to being home. Thursday the 28th is the big day. His itinerary said 5:32 p.m. but his plane leaves Salt Lake at 4:30. If you are planning on being there I suggest around 5:00. His report will be this Sunday the 31st. Our church starts at 11:00. Of course there will be dinner after. There is all the important info. I hope after seeing us all there he doesn't turn around and climb back on the plane!!!

Kendall's birthday

I just have to tell Kendall Happy Birthday. I am a little late posting. His birthday was on the 18th. Kendall you are a great son-in-law. I couldn't ask for better. You can joke around and that is the best. You treat Rachel great and you guys have a great time together. You are so good to the boys and support them in everything they do. You probably didn't expect to end up with live in teenagers. Thanks for all you do for us. We love you and are so glad that you are in our family. We hope you had a great day. We went to Stockman's Tuesday night to celebrate and had a great time. This is us celebrating. Happy Birthday your the greatest.

The time continues to get short but it feels like this is how it is supposed to be. Life has been a little crazy lately. We started off this transfer like normal with driving the transfer train and getting everyone settled in. Elder Jennings and I split up and I went to the Bismarck zone for a week then to Fargo for a week and then I was in Sioux Falls for a weekend with plans to ride the bus on Monday to go back to Rapid to start the zone conference tour. On Saturday night Elder Jennings called. He was crying and said "man I think I'm going home". My first thought was what did you get yourself into these past two weeks. I was thinking that he had done something wrong. He then proceeded to tell me that his dad was really sick and President and Sister Cannon had just told him. His dad has pancreatic cancer that has now moved into his liver. They don't think he has long to live. Right after that President called and told me the same thing. He said to leave for Rapid as soon as possible so on Sunday I skipped church and got on a bus and headed for Rapid. It is about a six hour ride but I don't mind a bus ride, it's pretty relaxing. I got into Rapid at about 6:00 p.m. Elder Jennings picked me up. He was doing a little better at this point. I think I was more upset thinking that I was going to lose my companion for my last month, selfish I know. We spent some time in Rapid as he and President decided what he should do. On Tuesday we had zone conference in Rapid. Tuesday night they made the final decision to send him home on Thursday. On Wednesday we had to leave for Bismarck. We had conference there on Thursday. On Wednesday, Elder Jennings, Elder Clark and I went to Mount Rushmore at 5:30 in the morning. That was an awesome experience. We were the only ones there. The sun was just coming up and there was a little fog. It was way cool. Rushmore is an a mazing place and when you are the only ones there it is even better. We spent about an hour there then went back to Rapid to leave. We said goodbye to Elder Jennings then headed for Bismarck. I followed President and Sister Cannon in my car because we had so much stuff to haul. With supplies and hitches. The church has come out with a policy that all mission vehicles have to have receiver hitches and bike racks to go on the hitches. Somehow I adopted that responsibility to get those on all 49 cars in the mission. That has been a project. On Thursday we had Bismarck then right after that on Thursday we left for Fargo. Their conference started on Friday. We then spent the weekend in Fargo this was my last time there. That was hard. I think I really grew to love the town and the people. I was glad I could go to church there one last time. On Monday we left for Sioux Falls. Their conference was on Tuesday and that was my last conference. The Sioux Falls zone has been struggling so President wants me to stay here rather than going to the two Wyoming conferences so I will be in this zone for the next two weeks. I hope to make it to Huron for church before I leave and that will be a good experience. That is about what I have been up to. It has been flying by I guess I will be talking to all of you this Sunday for Mothers Day and will be seeing all of you soon. Thank you all for everything you have done in supporting me.
