Football feeding

Last Thursday it was my turn to feed the varsity football team. I can't believe I forgot my camera. I did the turkey wings that you see people grawing on at the fair. I figured that would be a good meal for those big burley football players. I also made funeral potatoes. I did two huge aluminum pans, the big pans from Sam's Club. The butter wouldn't quit dripping in my ovens. It was totally smoking us out of the house. I finally called Sha'Nell and asked if I could finish them at her house. Three huge cookers of turkey legs and two huge pans of potatoes. I was tired of hauling food around. We had it at the high school. It was good. The boys seemed to like it. A couple other moms helped bring salads and desserts. It was a good meal. After the dinner Kaden had his JV game. They haven't won yet this year. They have been within one touchdown on all except one game. They lost tonight by 6. Brenan had his game Friday. It was not good. After coming off their win last week against Preston we were excited but IF kicked our butts. I guess the turkey legs were not the lucky meal. I love football I just hope we can start winning a few more games.

Picture Sunday

Well what a weekend. Yes we were still cutting grain but we luckily finished on Tuesday. My niece Destiny moved from Texas to Utah. She is into photography so I asked her if she would be interested in doing our family pictures. She said she would so her family came up this last weekend. We went to church on Sunday and then took take and bake pizzas up to LeeRayes and cooked them for lunch then the photo shoot began. She did an absolutely wonderful job. We went down behind LeeRaye's and then came out and did some in the grain field. I am excited for the pictures. I think they turned out great even though her subjects probably weren't the best and probably drove her a little crazy. Oh well she should be used to Dave's humor since her dad's is a little similar. Anyway I only have the raw photos on my computer and I am sure she wants them all fixed before anyone sees them. She posted a few on her website so if you want to see our family photos go to my side bar and click on Destiny LaSeur's blog. She took over 300 pictures. We had a lot of fun!!! Thanks Destiny, you were the greatest!!! It was also fun to see her husband Gordon and her two cute kids Lyndon and Madeline.

Brenda Sutton family reunion???

Well the first annual Brenda Sutton family reunion. Dave and Kendall said a reunion is when you reunite. He said that we're not apart enought to reunite so I guess we'll have to come up with a different name according to them. Sha'Nell figured we had better go camping so up to Palisades we went. It was the two coldest days of the summer, go figure. We ended up in a campground. Not exactly my idea of camping but it really turned out not being that bad. It worked great for our situation. So here is the huge amoung of pictures we took. Sorry about the amount:

Sha'Nell and Jade plus others in the background

Sha'Nell giving directions and grandma Denise being grandma and Melanee looking a little campish. Derek looking on.

Ryan taking it easy

Grandma Brenda headed back after using the outhouse. Pretty nice outhouse huh!!

Hailey freezing and me looking extra good trying to get Brinley (Sha'Nells baby) to burp

The second day we tried to go boating. Yes if those look like goosebumps on everyone it probably was. It was COLD!!! Todd and Denise brought their boat. A few of them wake boarded. Brenan landed his backflip for a few seconds after quite a few tries.

Brenan helping the little kids

Brevie freezing and I'm not sure who's legs those are.

Derek and Brenan getting ready to load up.

Back at camp. We got rained on most of this day. Kendall looking thrilled in the background. Ashley, Hailey and Emmalee

Making breakfast on Saturday morning. One thing about us we know how to eat.

Melanee has great camping hair. She better hope along with me that we always have electricity.

Hailey holding the baby and Rachel and Kendall eating dinner

Brevin you got love this cutie
Wes he loved camping can't wait for next year

Our most interesting thing was burning the black ants that were in our wood. Hundreds of them came racing out when we put the logs in the fire. It entertained us for hours. We're easily enteretained I guess.

Enjoying the freezing day

Melissa holding Emmalee who was enjoying an oreo

It was a good time despite the weather. Todd and Dave tried scaring the middle ages boys and did a good job of it. They took them on a snipe hunt and the boys figured we had a cougar in camp which brought them running to the camp fire. Everyone was there except Matt and he has taken his hits over that. We'll see how our next year reunion turns out.

CAMPING

We went camping at Kilgore last week. We left Wednesday and came back Friday. No body wanted to come back but I was in charge of our Stake baptisms on Saturday so no choice. I told them they could stay but everyone came back. We went with Dave and Holly Burtenshaw and their family. It was beautiful up there. The first night it was pretty cold. I had only taken two blankets for Dave and my bed. He about froze to death, he claims. We fished in the day, went four wheeling and just sat around and enjoyed the outdoors. It was wonderful. We always have a great time and wonder why we don't do it more often. It is a lot of work packing and unpacking but the couple of days of peace and rest are worth it. The first night Rachel and Kendall came up for dinner and the second night the Burtenshaws daughter and husband, John and Abby Flinders came up so did Brooke and Kent Jeppesen and their family and Matt and Kellen Albertson. We had a full house that night.

Here are all the boys cooking our breakfast!!
Dave, Bo, Kaden, Tyrel and Brenan

Chefs in the making. Brenan was trying to get the eggs just right

Dave is so photogenic

Kaden taking it easy

Dave Burtenshaw who is affectionately known as Burt because we have to many Dave's. Dave and Bo

My Dave who is known as Big Casino, don't ask me why, something to do with John Wayne anyways your don't even want to know what he was doing here. He had a little dance to go with his name and his gun. Ya the boys were embarrassed but he does make everyone laugh.
