May 27th was Kaden's 16 birthday. I have given each of my kids a surprise party on their 16th birthday so Kaden was pretty much expecting one. His birthday came and went with no party. I asked him what he was going to do on his birthday he said, "oh probably go to a surprise party". I said really who's. He didn't think that was funny but no surprise party on his birthday. We actually had it two days later. I put Hailey, his cousin, and Richard Broulim, his friend in charge of getting people here. Of course we picked the day that it rained from sun up to sun down. We were supposed to have a bon fire and play volleyball and roast hot dogs and s'mores. Well that didn't work out so well but anyway back to the surprise. I told Kaden that we were going to take him to dinner for his birthday. I told him we had to wait until Saturday so that everyone could go. He said we had to hurry because he had a date. I told him we were all riding together and then coming back for cake and ice cream then he could leave on his date. He picked Winger's his favorite restaurant. So we all met there and had dinner. Meanwhile the kids were assembling at my house. We got back to the house and Kaden went in and sat at the table. All the kids were waiting in my living room. I said uh Kaden go get my stuff out of my room. I had a brain freeze I couldn't even think of what "stuff" to tell him to get. He said no its my birthday with a big grin. I thought he knew at that point but he was really just saying no he wasn't doing anything because it was his birthday. Finally the kids all came running out and scared him to death. I GOT HIM. He had no clue. I love it. I surprised all 4 of my kids none of them had a clue. We tried to light the fire outside but all the wood was wet. We used diesel, and gas but as soon as it burned off the fire would go out besides it was freezing. So all the kids just piled in the house and did whatever kids do.
Here they are waiting for our return.
Right after the big SURPRISE

Of course since there was nothing else to do. Dave pulled out the karaoke machine. He loves to karaoke. These boys were singing up a storm.
Kaden we love you and are proud of you. You are a great son to have. We are so happy you are in our family. We hope you have a great year. Love ya

Surprise parties are FUN! My mom did that for us too! I had to set up my own party at McDonalds and I didn't have a clue that it was for me! I had just started working there! I was really surprised too!
hahaha. I love suprise parties!! :) they are the best! :) ha. Sounds like it was fun! :)
Good job Ang! It's hard to surprise them when they know you did it for all the other kids. I guess the best surprise would be to not have one. HAHA!
